Trnscrb
Most meeting transcribers run in the cloud — your audio uploaded in exchange for a transcript and a subscription. Trnscrb does the same job locally.
It lives in your menu bar, watches for meetings (Meet, Zoom, Slack Huddle, Teams, FaceTime), captures the audio, transcribes it on-device with Whisper, and saves a plain text file to a folder on your machine.
The MCP integration is the unlock. Once trnscrb registers with Claude Desktop, every transcript becomes searchable in conversation. "What did we decide about pricing in the Q2 review?" just works — the model finds the right transcript and quotes the relevant lines back at you.
Distributed as a Homebrew tap and a Python package. trnscrb install handles the BlackHole audio driver, the Whisper model download, and the Claude Desktop config in one guided step.
